XMA
XMA also believe in practising what we preach and have implemented
a Pull Print system solutions internally.
Tim Beech, XMA's Managing Director said, "The reason we implemented
the system was to show our customers what savings and benefits
were available to them when a cohesive print strategy was implemented."
- The duplex rate was negligible but is now 43%.
- Printouts were being generated and not collected (in excess
of 600 pages per week were collected from printer output trays).
- Printouts were generated and went missing from shared devices.
- Managers had personal printers for printing confidential documents
- Colour print jobs were generated on a slow, high cost per page
device
- XMA only needed 2 A3 pages per month, but were paying in excess
of £250 per quarter for the facility.
On average, over the past twelve months XMA submits around 34,000
pages to print with only 19,000 actually printed from the system.
That's a massive 45% of pages not actually printed, which will
save XMA in excess of £2,500 per annum on just a 4 device
solution.
The system is due to be extended to the rest of the organisation
later in Autumn 2007, with projected savings for the whole of the
company of over £15,000pa.
